Quality Assurance Technician at Aerotek, Charlotte, NC
Job Classification: Direct HireAerotek is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Technician. This qualified candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance that verify conformance of manufactured parts and components with print specifications. This position has 3 major functions. 1. Inspection of incoming vendor parts and products. 2. Inspection of internally produced parts and processes related to customer machine runoffs. C. Compile and maintain all related quality conformance reports and vendor quality performance. Essential Duties & Responsibility: - Setup and program PC based inspection equipment: Use Brown & Sharpe, Excel CMM using PCDIMS/Version 4.1 Software. Mitsubishi Contractor 2000, Taylor Hobson TR-130 Talyrond (roundness tester) Taylor Hobson Sutronic 25 surface finish checker and a Brown & Sharpe 6500 series Optical Comparator with a Quadra Check 200. -Surface Plate Setup & Measurement: Use various manual inspection tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, bore gages, square masters, height gages, indicators, V-Blocks, parallels, etc. to inspect quality -Customer Runoff Preparation: Review Customer runoff quality requirements with the project managers to determine what inspection methods are required. Then develop inspection plans for measuring essential part features, including writing CMM programs as needed. -Customer Runoff Support: Provide part inspection during runoffs. This may include set-interval CMM part inspections, use of computer supplied bench gages and recording of part measurement data for CPK studies. -Inspection Documents & Reports: Generate documents showing part inspection results and part disposition; accept, reject or return to vendor for rework or replacement. Issue and maintain reports on vendor quality and delivery performance. -Control of Inspection Gages & Equipment: Sign-out inspection gages and equipment to use on the shop floor for customer runoffs and sign in once they are completed. Additional Job Info: This is a Direct Placement. They hours of work will be 7:30-4:30 Monday-Friday.
